Dharmendra, winner of "The Life Time Achievement" award from FILMFARE in 1997 for his achievements, splendid performance during his times and wonderful career in Bollywood, was the real action hero of perfection in his hey days and is still considered to be the best romantic hero and the best romantic pair with the actress Hema Malini who he later got married to.
'Garam' Dharam, as he's known in the Bollywood, had the looks of a real gentle man, the masculine body of a he-man and when it comes to his films, he's got this humorous touch in his dailogue-delivery and the timing, especially. He's no comparision to the stars of the present Bollywood. It was upto the director Hrishikesh Mukerjee to dig out all these skills in and out of 'Garam' Dharam.
The heroics he did in his films - "Phool Aur Pathar", "Jugnu", "Raja Jani" and "Loafer" - are quite remarkable and unforgettable that all these films are a big run at the box office. And not to forget his quite unbelievable performance he'd shown in the role he played as "Veeru" in "Sholay". "Dharam" has acted in action-packed block busters as well as comic roles in Hrishikesh Mukerjee's "Chupke Chupke", "Satyakam" and "Anupama".
The one thing Dharmendra couldn't agree to do was - dance though he's got a reputation of saying YES to everything he could. Apart from the fact that there was no dance in his films, the justification that he did to all the roles he played was unreached.
Though he and his films got nominated for the so-called awards and though he couldn't get one for his films, he, in the end, has got the best award in his life - "The Life Time Achievement" award from FILMFARE.
And the best romantic couple of the Bollywood - Dharmendra and Hema Malini are now going to introduce their sweet heart "Eesha Deol" who's definitely be a hit in the Bollywood.
